Brewing news Uganda: Nile Breweries aids victims

Nile Breweries has donated sh30m to the Steve Willis Memorial Fund to assist people affected by the LRA insurgency in northern Uganda, New Vision reported November, 08.

The late Steve Willis was the proprietor of Red Chilli Rest Camp in Murchison Falls National Game Park and Red Chilli Hideaway, Bugolobi. He was killed by suspected LRA rebels in 2005.

The donation was made during the Chili 2 Chili Charity Challenge Walk from Shoprite Lugogo to Red Chilli Hideaway on Sunday after a fundraising cycling drive from Murchison Falls to Bugolobi.

The dummy cheque was handed over to Debbie Willis, the widow by Nile Breweries representative, Miranda Bowser.

Debbie commended Nile Breweries for recognising the plight of the people in northern Uganda. A total of sh45m was raised towards the Fund during the event.
